What We Do
What began in March 2024 as a private housing provider renting rooms to returning citizens in Baltimore, Maryland, evolved into Mavrik Village, an affordable reentry housing program, after it became clear that residents needed more than housing alone. As we supported residents with everyday challenges beyond housing, we recognized the opportunity—and responsibility—to build a more intentional, community-connected model. Establishing Mavrik Village positioned us to deepen partnerships and strengthen the wraparound support residents need to move forward.
Our homes offer private bedrooms in fully furnished, move-in-ready environments, inclusive of utilities, Wi-Fi, essential household items, and on-site laundry. There is no maximum length of stay, allowing residents to stabilize at a realistic pace. Homes are intentionally located in stable, owner-occupied neighborhoods with access to grocery stores, transportation, and essential services.
Mavrik Village removes common housing barriers that shut out formerly incarcerated individuals, including:
Credit checks
Background checks
Income minimums
Rental history requirements
Blanket felony charge exclusions
High move-in costs
Our support is grounded in Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, prioritizing residents’ physiological and safety needs as the foundation for successful reentry. In addition to housing, Mavrik Village directly assists residents with building credit by reporting on-time rent payments to all three major credit bureaus. Through trusted community partnerships, residents are supported in obtaining driver’s licenses and accessing workforce development, financial literacy, and, when needed, mental health services and substance use treatment.
Our Impact to Date: Turning stable housing into real second chances and measurable outcomes:
- Community-based referrals and direct placements upon release
- 8 residents housed following 3 – 38 years of incarceration
- 38% of residents have transitioned into their own apartments with one year
- 88% have maintained consistent employment
- 38% obtained a driver’s license with support from a community partner
- 63% reached a 680+ credit score through on-time rent reporting
- 100% compliance with supervision requirements
- 0% recidivism
Outcome tracking is ongoing and informs continuous improvement of Mavrik Village’s reentry housing model.
